5MEO ARTWORK

This one has been getting some love recently, feeding off my love of Arabic, eastern and psychedelic vibes, its an exclusive track from the down tempo version of my live set, 5MeO-DNB Live; which can be played at various tempos, in various genres and with slightly different vibes…

If you’ve followed my soundcloud since 2011, you might have heard a few incarnations of this track as it developed :) from now on the only way to get previews of tracks like that, will be through this website, hit the LOGIN button above to get access to those!

Eventually this will be performed with live guitar, and one day i hope with a sitar too!

If you’d like to hear more, it’ll be in my live set! (so get your local promoter to drop me a message on the Bookings section; my music is all about playing out live, the only stipulation is the vibe :) )

British & EU Flag

I’m going to keep my website largely politics free (if you follow me elsewhere you are probably thinking “yeah right” 😛 but i will i promise) – but this issue is way to important.

Soon you will have an important decision to make, and please, you must goto the polls and vote in the referendum, the UK leaving the EU is not about scaremongering or collapse, its about society, its about our NHS and the social responsibility our Government has for us; leaving the EU will leave us open to further abuse by the so-called-Elite; the EU has been driving force behind many of our most important social changes which have improved the lives of everyone – while our Right Wing, Conservative Governments have repeatedly tried to take those social structures away.

There are forces in the United Kingdom that want to see the UK leave the EU, they are pushing for this because they want to deregulate the financial sector (I know, that’s worked out great in the past hasn’t it!) – and they are using peoples fear of non-British people as bait; despite the total chaos that the financial sector has caused, they don’t care, because they make money regardless of whether our country is in recession or not, and they can make even more money if we leave the EU.

What did the EU ever do for us?

“What did the EU ever do for us?
Not much, apart from…

  • clean beaches and rivers;
  • cleaner air;
  • lead free petrol;
  • restrictions on landfill dumping;
  • a recycling culture;
  • cheaper mobile charges;
  • improved consumer protection and food labelling;
  • a ban on growth hormones and other harmful food additives;
  • better product safety;
  • single market competition bringing quality improvements and better industrial performance;
  • break up of monopolies;
  • Europe-wide patent and copyright protection;
  • no paperwork or customs for exports throughout the single market;
  • price transparency and removal of commission on currency exchanges across the eurozone;
  • freedom to travel, live and work across Europe;
  • funded opportunities for young people to undertake study or work placements abroad;
  • access to European health services;
  • labour protection and enhanced social welfare;
  • smoke-free workplaces;
  • equal pay legislation;
  • holiday entitlement;
  • the right not to work more than a 48-hour week without overtime;
  • strongest wildlife protection in the world;
  • improved animal welfare in food production;
  • EU-funded research and industrial collaboration;
  • EU representation in international forums;
  • bloc EEA negotiation at the WTO;
  • EU diplomatic efforts to uphold the nuclear non-proliferation treaty;
  • European arrest warrant;
  • cross border policing to combat human trafficking, arms and drug smuggling; counter terrorism intelligence;
  • European civil and military co-operation in post-conflict zones in Europe and Africa;
  • support for democracy and human rights across Europe and beyond;
  • investment across Europe contributing to better living standards and educational, social and cultural capital.
  • cheaper air travel;
  • providing 57% of our trade;
  • structural funding to areas hit by industrial decline;
  • All of this is nothing compared with its greatest achievements: the EU has for 60 years been the foundation of peace between European neighbours after centuries of bloodshed.

    It furthermore assisted the extraordinary political, social and economic transformation of 13 former dictatorships, now EU members, since 1980.
    Now the union faces major challenges brought on by neoliberal economic globalisation, and worsened by its own systemic weaknesses. It is taking measures to overcome these. We in the UK should reflect on whether our net contribution of £7bn out of total government expenditure of £695bn is good value. We must play a full part in enabling the union to be a force for good in a multi-polar global future.

    Simon Sweeney,

    Lecturer in international political economy, University of York”

    I will be voting to STAY IN the EU, I hope you will too

    On a more personal note, my business, working with amazing artists, musicians, producers and film makers around the EU would simply not be possible; but not only that, I have people very close to me who are currently suffering (medically and socially) under the right wing policy of our current government; without the EU, that onslaught of greed and destruction of social responsibility by the government will go unchecked and out of control.

    Do you really want a health service like the USA? Are you prepared to loose your home to pay for cancer treatment? …that is a battle we will have to fight regardless of the outcome of the EU referendum, but without the support of the EU and our friends in Europe, that battle will be far harder.

    While all of this is going on, there is another fight to be had, TTIP, yet another attempt by the rich to control governments, it will allow take over of our NHS, it will allow companies to sue government if they ban harmful chemicals which cut their profits (imagine tobacco companies suing the Gov for promoting quit-smoking! Yes that is the reality of this!).

    Countdown Pic of Vape and Strips

    I’ve been trying to quit tobacco for years now, had a few long runs of success (3 years longest); and after another hard struggle I’m just about to hit 4 months without tobacco – on the 25th of this month I’m ditching Nicotine too! 😀

    Stocked up on emergency oral film type nicotine strips, just incase (i no longer get annoyed about sometimes needing a little boost, taking the “ah well” attitude has really helped, in the last 3 years, most I’ve managed is 48hrs – last time I quit for 3 years I was still Vaping, and although I tried to lower the dose repeatedly, eventually I ended up back on cigs)

    But I’ve been weaning myself off nicotine for the last 4 months, down from 72mg per day, to <10mg now, and i'm finally down to a manageable level where i'm not vaping every few minutes; so now for the next 10 days i'm dropping 1mg a day until I hit ZERO; and will be using the 2.5mg strips as often as possible instead of vaping! On 25th, my vaporizer is getting packed away, a couple of emergency strips left out just incase, and I'll be officially a non-smoking-non-vaping-non-nicotine using normal person again wooo
